Alvin L. Morton
April 4, 1921 - August 31, 2014

Mr. Alvin L. Morton, age 93, of Pittsburgh, passed away peacefully on Sunday, August 31, 2014, with his loving family at his side.

Devoted father of Vivien K. (William J.) Downes, of South Carolina; loving grandfather of Erin, Ashley, and Amanda; proud great-grandfather of Emma and Brett; twin brother of the late Vernon W. Morton.

Al enlisted in the United States Army Air Corps on January 8, 1943, and served in the Eighth Air Force during World War II.  He was a retired accountant and was the author of the book, A Noble Spirit.  Friends may call at Laughlin Memorial Chapel, 222 Washington Rd., Mt. Lebanon, on Friday morning, September 5, 2014 from 10:00 am until the time of his funeral service at 11:00 am.  He will then be laid to rest with Military Honors in Highwood Cemetery beside his late parents, Frank and Irene Kempes Morton.
