Barbara Yandel

Barbara Jean Lewis Yandel of Charlotte, 74, passed away from natural causes on January 29, 2014, surrounded by her family.

She was the daughter of Asher and Lydia Lewis, who are both deceased. Barbara was married to Don Yandel for 22 years and had five children; Deborah Brando of Los Angeles, Lisa Coppala (John) of Charlotte, and Joseph Yandel (Brenda) of York, S.C. She was preceded in death by two of her sons, David Yandel and Blaine Yandel, as well as great-granddaughter, Serenity Parsons. Barbara was a mother first and foremost. She is survived by thirteen grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.

Barbara attended Central High School and was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where she held many callings within her church. She shared her love of the Gospel and her testimony with her family, friends, and everyone she met. Barbara had a keen appreciation of the natural beauties created by Heavenly Father, whether it was morning glories, sunsets, or snow clouds. Her love for her family shows in the hundreds of hours she spent researching their genealogy. She was a child of the 50s. She loved music, cold days, rainy days, hot chocolate, and being cozy, cozy, cozy! All those who knew her can agree that she is and will be unforgettable.

Services were held on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 5897 Hemby Road, Weddington, N.C. 28104. Visitation was at noon, with her funeral at 1:00 pm. Interment following at Sharon Memorial Park. Flowers may be sent to the church.
