Cornelius Eldridge Mixon

Cornelius Eldridge Mixon, age 78, passed away peacefully at his home in Charlotte on August 26th 2014. He was in the care of Hospice & Palliative Care Charlotte Region and his longtime partner, Beverly Whitlow.

Eldridge grew up in Winnsboro, SC and was a graduate of the University of South Carolina (Class of '57). He was a long term practicing CPA who loved following Gamecock sports and splitting his time between Charlotte and his house on Lake Wateree where he was blessed to live near lifelong friends.

Survivors include Ms. Whitlow of Charlotte, brother Wayne Mixon of Augusta, GA and sister Gwendolyn Mixon McMurray of Hopkins, SC. He has three sons, Burch and his wife, Arrington, Brooks and his wife, Courtney, all of Charlotte and Brian and his wife Shelley of Denver, CO as well as 6 grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Cornelius Burch Mixon and Lucile Daughtry Mixon and his sister, Frances Mixon Lucas.

Memorial services will be held at 11AM on Friday, August 29th at Christ Episcopal Church (1412 Providence Road) in Charlotte, NC.
