Joseph Anthony Venturelli, Sr., 78, of Charlotte, NC, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 4th, 2014.
Joe was born in Brooklyn, NY to Salvatore and Josephine Venturelli on November 8, 1935. A National Guard veteran, Joe began his career with Royal Insurance Co., progressing from mailroom services in 1935 to Manager of Corporate Communications. He and his family relocated with the company to Charlotte, NC in 1986, where Joe retired with over 50 years of service in 2004.
Joe is survived by his wife of 57 years, Patricia Venturelli; his son, Joseph A. Venturelli Jr.; his daughters, Donna McCaskill, and Lisa Venturelli; his cherished grandchildren, Michael and ToniAnn Venturelli, and Julianne and Ian McCaskill; his daughter-in-law, Barbara Venturelli, and son-in-law, John McCaskill. He is also survived by his siblings, Stella Pagano and Philip Venturelli, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Joe was predeceased by his eldest brother, Louis (Sonny) Venturelli.
Joe will be remembered for his hard work and dedication to his family, his sense of humor, his values and beliefs, and his never-ending demonstrations of love and selflessness toward all who were blessed to have him in their lives.
Visitation will be held at Palmetto Funeral Home, 2049 Carolina Place Drive, Fort Mill, SC, on Thursday and Friday, October 9th and 10th, from 3:00pm - 7:00pm. A funeral service will be held at Saint Philip Neri Catholic Church, 292 Munn Road East, Fort Mill, SC, on Saturday, October 11th at 10:00am. Burial/interment will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens in Mint Hill, NC.
