Heaven welcomed home our little angel on Sunday. Melanie was a beautiful, intelligent and very talented young woman who was loved by all who knew her. Melanie's loving spirit and kind heart was evident in the way she took care of the people she knew. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.
Melanie graduated cum laude from UNCC with a degree in geochemistry and loved to spend time in the field. Her talents included cooking and organic gardening. She loved animals, especially her dog Tybee and her miniature horse Tootles.
She is survived by her mother Yvonne Wiggins Felts; her sister Heather Nichole Felts and her fiance‚ Tim Woodard; her father Richard Felts and his wife, Linda; her maternal aunts Sandra Wiggins Kafka, Robin Wiggins Cardoso and husband Randy; and her uncle David Wiggins.
A memorial service will be held at Cook's Presbyterian Church at 3413 Mt Holly Huntersville Road, Charlotte 28216 on Thursday, September 11th at 11:00 AM.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Cook's Presbyterian Church and the Cook's Volunteer Fire Department.
