Meredith Dickinson Stoever, "Dick", of Charlotte passed away March 8, 2014, at the age of 82.
Dick was born Sept. 10, 1931, in Durham, to Henry Von Hoff Stoever, Jr. and Garetta Dickinson Stoever. He graduated high school from the Hill School in Potstown, Pa. and received his BA from the University of Virginia. He served two years in the army during the Korean War period. His community service included terms on the City and County Board of Adjustments. His other interests included competitive tennis until in his 50's he switched to golf and enjoyed many years of playing with his friends at Charlotte Country Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dr. Henry Von Hoff Stoever III. He is survived by his devoted wife Rebecca Petrea Stoever and they would have celebrated their 50th anniversary in August of this year. Additionally he is survived by his son, John Dickinson Stoever of Summerville, S.C.; his daughter, Meredith Stoever Marley (Will) of Durham; his four adored grandchildren, Sydney and Sam Stoever and Drew and Jordan Marley.
